Kama Ayurveda is a luxury Ayurvedic beauty brand that offers a wide range of skincare, haircare, and body care products. The brand was founded in India in 2002, with the aim of providing a natural and holistic approach to beauty and wellness. Kama Ayurveda has gained immense popularity over the years and has become a favourite among skincare enthusiasts worldwide.
How It All Began
The journey of Kama Ayurveda started in 2002 when its four cofounders—Vivek Sahni, Dave Chang, Rajshree Pathy, and Vikram Goyal—came together with a common vision of reviving Ayurveda and promoting it globally. The brand was inspired by ancient Ayurvedic texts and practices, and its formulations were based on natural ingredients and herbs that have been used for centuries.
A Milestone In The Journey
Kama Ayurveda marked a significant milestone in 2014 when it launched its website and established a presence on multiple social media platforms. Prior to this, the brand had limited retail distribution through select stores such as Good Earth, The Oberoi’s beauty salons, and The Taj Khazana. However, with the website launch, Kama Ayurveda could offer its products to a wider audience, and social media channels allowed the brand to engage with customers personally and build a community around its products.
In the Now
Today, Kama Ayurveda has a strong presence in India and abroad. The brand retails out of 56 standalone stores and 45 shop-in-shops as well as hotels and spas. It also has an online store that ships worldwide, making it accessible to a global audience. All their formulations are free from parabens, sulphates and other harmful chemicals making them safe and gentle for all skin types.
Did You Know?
Unlike many other brands that claim to be “clean,” Kama Ayurveda has gone above and beyond to ensure the authenticity and certification of their formulations by prestigious organizations like COSMO, EcoCert, and PETA. In fact, in July 2021, Kama Ayurveda opened a state-of-the-art pharma-grade factory in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, which boasts a green production facility with innovative waste management solutions, rainwater harvesting, and even the use of solar energy.
